Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
In short: Trip Motion has no accounts and no servers of its own. Your trips and videos stay on your device. Some data leaves the device only when a feature needs it: Apple provides map images, place search and place names, a routing service draws road routes, and Apple and RevenueCat check your purchases. The App contains no advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs.
1. Who we are
Trip Motion ("the App") is developed and published by Dijital Kafa Bilisim ve Danismanlik A.S. ("we", "us", "our"), Gulnihal Sokak Ataturk Mahallesi No: 1/6, Atasehir, Istanbul, Turkey.
We are the data controller for the processing described in this policy, including under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK). This policy explains what information the App handles, where it goes, and what choices you have.
2. What stays on your device
The App keeps the following only on your device, in its private storage:
- Your trips: trip names, stops (place names and coordinates), and the vehicles, colors, map styles and camera settings you choose.
- Your videos: the videos you export, so you can watch and share them again.
- Your settings: for example language and units.
- Map images: a cache of map images, so maps load faster.
We do not receive a copy of any of this. There is no account and no cloud sync. Like other app data, it may be included in your device backups (iCloud Backup or a backup on your computer), which your Apple settings control.
Deleting a trip in the App also deletes its video from the App. Deleting the App removes everything it stored. Videos you saved to your photo library or shared with others are not affected.
3. What leaves your device, and why
| Data | Sent to | When | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| The text you type in place search | Apple (MapKit) | While you search for a place | Show matching places |
| The coordinates of your current position | Apple | When you tap "Use my location" | Find the name of the place |
| The map area of your route | Apple (MapKit) | When a map is drawn in the App or in a video | Load map images |
| The start and end coordinates of a road leg | A routing service | When a leg of your trip uses a road vehicle | Draw a route that follows roads |
| An anonymous purchase ID, your purchase history and basic device information | RevenueCat and Apple | When the App starts, and when you buy or restore Pro | Check whether you have Pro |
Like any request over the internet, these requests also reach the receiving service with your IP address and standard technical information, such as your device type and operating system version. All requests are encrypted (HTTPS).
Rail and sea legs are calculated on your device from map data built into the App, and air legs are drawn as arcs on your device. Their coordinates are not sent to the routing service.
3.1 Location
- The App asks for location permission only when you tap Use my location to add your current position as a stop.
- It uses the "While Using the App" permission. It never asks for "Always" access, never reads your location in the background and does not record where you go.
- It reads your position once, at approximate accuracy (about 100 meters). Apple turns the position into a place name. The App then saves it as a stop in your trip on your device.
- If you decline, you can still add every stop by searching for it.
- You can change this permission at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Trip Motion.
3.2 Photos
- When you tap Save to gallery, the App asks for permission to add the video to your photo library.
- This "add only" permission does not let the App see, read or upload any of your photos or videos.
- You can change this permission at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > Trip Motion.
3.3 Sharing
When you share a video, you use the iOS share sheet and choose the app and the people you share it with. The terms and privacy policy of that app apply. We do not receive a copy.
3.4 Purchases
Apple processes all payments. We never receive your payment details or your Apple Account name or email address.
We use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA) to manage Trip Motion Pro. RevenueCat receives:
- an anonymous identifier that RevenueCat creates for your installation of the App,
- your Trip Motion purchase and transaction history from the App Store,
- your App Store country and currency, the App version and basic device information.
We use this to unlock Pro, restore purchases, prevent fraud and view total figures such as the number of subscribers. This information is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising. RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
3.5 Maps and places (Apple)
Map images, place search and place names come from Apple Maps, through Apple's MapKit and Core Location frameworks. Apple processes these requests under its own privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.
3.6 Road routes
Road routes are calculated by a third-party routing service. For each road leg, the App sends the coordinates of the start and end point only. The request contains no identifier from the App. The provider of the service may keep server logs under its own policies.
4. What we do not collect
- No account, name, email address or phone number.
- No contacts, camera, microphone or health data.
- We do not read your photo library.
- We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- The App contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
If you allow sharing with app developers in iOS settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. These do not identify you.
5. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Turkey)
- Features you ask for (place search, place names, road routes, map images): necessary to provide the App to you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b); KVKK Art. 5(2)(c)).
- Checking and restoring purchases, preventing fraud: necessary to provide what you bought, and our legitimate interest in preventing misuse (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f); KVKK Art. 5(2)(c) and (f)).
- Total sales figures: our legitimate interest in running the business (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)).
The App reads your location or adds to your photo library only after you grant the iOS permission. You can withdraw that permission at any time.
6. How long data is kept
- On your device: until you delete it or delete the App.
- RevenueCat: as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal and accounting obligations, under RevenueCat's policies.
- Apple and the routing service: under their own policies. We do not receive or store these requests.
7. International transfers
Apple and RevenueCat process data in the United States and in other countries, so the data described in Section 3 may be processed outside your country of residence. Their privacy policies describe how they protect it.
8. Your rights
All your trips and videos are on your device. You can view, change and delete them in the App at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it,
- have it corrected or deleted,
- restrict or object to its processing,
- withdraw consent at any time,
- complain to a data protection authority.
In Turkey, these include your rights under Article 11 of KVKK. You can also complain to the Personal Data Protection Board (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurulu).
California residents: we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you and ask us to delete it.
Because the App has no accounts, we usually cannot link purchase records to you by name. To help us find yours, include the order ID from your Apple purchase receipt in your request. We respond within 30 days.
9. Security
Data in the App is stored in its private storage, protected by iOS app sandboxing and your device's encryption. All network requests use HTTPS.
10. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, or under the age of digital consent in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The App does not ask anyone for information that identifies them.
11. Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we change the "Last updated" date above. If we make significant changes, we will also announce them in the App or in the App Store release notes.
